How To Grow Alocasia Bulbs
Alocasia bulbs can be propagated in water and sphagnum moss.
Growing Alocasia Bulbs in Water
- Keep your corm in the provided transparent container with the lid
- Pour clean water into the container and ensure that only the bottom half of the bulbs are submerged in water so that they will have access to both air and water.
- Close the lid of the container and place it in a location with warm temperatures and indirect light.
- Every day, remove the lid for 1-2 hours to allow the bulbs to receive some air.
- Change the water with fresh clean water every week.
- Within 4-6 weeks, you will see a leaf starting to form
- Keep the bulbs in the water until their leaves appear.
- You can now transfer the baby plant to a proper growth medium such as a we’ll draining soil mix or leca.
Growing Alocasia Bulbs in Sphagnum Moss
- Take a transparent jar or plastic container with a lid and place damp moss in the bottom of the container.
- Place the bulbs on top of the moss root side down.
- Close the lid of the container and place it in a location with warm temperatures and indirect light.
- Every day, remove the lid for 1-2 hours to allow the bulbs to receive some air.
- Add a sprinkle of water every couple of days to keep the moss damp.
- Within 4-6 weeks, you will see a leaf starting to form
